US All Stars skipper in prime form
With the 2019 US Open T20 tournament just a few months away, skipper of the US All Stars team Zishawn Qureshi has been warming up for the major tournament with some excellent performances.
The all-rounder recently turned out for Kentucky Cricket Club in the Louisville Majors cricket league and grabbed six wickets in two matches.
In the first match against Louisville CC, Qureshi was at his best for his team, as he grabbed 3/16 off four overs. Louisville was bowled out for just 90 runs as Fahad Babar also got into the action and took 4/19.
KCC in reply romped to victory at 91/3 off 7.5 overs. Shaheer Hasan opening the batting struck an unbeaten 64 off just 19 deliveries with six fours and six sixes.
In the second match of the weekend, the Fort Lauderdale resident was at it again, as firstly he scored a rapid 34 to lead KCC to 162 for five in 20 overs. He faced 29 balls, striking three fours and one six.
Louisville was well in the game with 25 runs needed off the final two overs. Qureshi came on to bowl the very important penultimate over and grabbed two wickets while allowing only seven runs to come off his bowling. Louisville ended with 157/7 off their 20 overs – losing the match by five runs. He ended with 3/21 off three overs including the important wicket of Arun Kumar who was well set on 29.
