MARGATE/FL – USA: The popular USA National Championships Maq T10 will bowl off on November 14.
This is the news coming out of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) headquarters at Margate in Florida. The popular T10 tournament has been around for the past three years and, is now a fixture on the US cricket landscape.
The first match of the tournament will see Maq All Stars against Global Warrior All Stars at Maq Cricket Stadium in Delray Beach on November 14 at 9.30 am. Two hours later Stars will come up against the Tigers All Stars cricket club. All matches are to be played at the Maq Cricket Stadium and the finals will be played on November 15. Prior to the finals, there will also be a third-place play-off.
Chairman of CCUSA Mahammad Qureshi explained that due to the pandemic they have had to cut the number of teams. “We have had to reduce the number of teams taking part this year because of the pandemic. We tried our best in adverse conditions to still bring out this tournament because we know how much the cricketers in America look forward to playing the T10 format. We normally have 16 teams but now we decided to put out four teams and they can pick anyone from America to take part with them.”
Qureshi added that the tournament committee has put in new rules where the teams reaching the finals can choose any player or players from the third and fourth place teams.
