BOCA RATON/FL – USA: The inaugural Cricket59 Women’s Champions League will take place from March 13 to 15 at the Maq Cricket Stadium in Boca and there will be cash prizes totaling $2000 on offer.
Chief accountant at Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Samantha Qureshi said this was a great time for women’s cricket in the United States and she is urging all women teams and even individual players to get registered on cricket59.com to be eligible to play in the tournament.
“We have decided to host this tournament in order to lift the level of women’s cricket in this country. This Cricket59 tournament is an exciting brand which I am sure will appeal to the ladies.
“We have gotten tremendous interest from many parties so far and we are looking forward to a great first tournament of the kind.” Qureshi who played cricket before turning to horseback riding is keen for the women players to get the opp

ortunity. “This is a great opportunity for the up and coming cricketers to rub shoulders with players on the international scene. This is what we did for the men and it improved their play, so we are doing likewise for the women hoping for the same result.”
The winner of the tournament will pocket $1,000, while the second-place team gets $500 and there will be cash available to the players hitting sixes in the final.
