MARGATE/FL – USA: The 2020 USA Nationals Maq T10 has been postponed to a date to be announced. So says chairman and CEO of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Maq Qureshi.
He told 925 News that with the current COVID 19 pandemic there is no way the tournament could have taken place at its original time which is April.
We are looking at alternate dates. I want everyone to know that this tournament is not canceled it is postponed for the moment. We know how crucial this tournament is on the USA cricket calendar, so we are going to stage it God’s willing. So far we have set a tentative time for September but if the situation with the virus is not under control by then, we will move it to October and even November if it comes to that.
We have the US Open T20 carded for December and once we can fit a window before December, we will stage the USA Nationals even if it means a scaled-down tournament.
“I know those team owners at the US Open normally look on keenly at this tournament to pick up potentially good players, so with that in mind we are trying as best we can to have a tournament.”
The USA Nationals has been played for the past five years and has become the second-biggest domestic tournament behind the US Open.
