Singaporean Man Admits Working As A Chinese Agent In US

A Singaporean man has admitted being guilty in the US to working as an agent of China.

US officials said that Jun Wei Yeo was accused of using his political consultancy in the US as a front to gather data for Chinese intelligence.

Jun Wei Yeo pleaded guilty in the federal court to be serving as an illegal agent of the Chinese government in 2015-19.

He was earlier accused of collecting confidential information using his political consultancy as a front.

He admitted that he scouted for Americans with high-level security clearance and persuading them to write reports for fake clients.
