Multan Sultans to feature at US Open
MARGATE/FL – USA: Popular Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise the Multan Sultans will feature at the 2019 edition of the popular US Open T20 tournament which will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park from December 18.
Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) team coordinator Muhammad Omair Shaikh revealed that the Sultans have agreed to come on board and take part in the tournament that carries prize money to the tune of US$100,000.
Chairman of CCUSA Mahammad Qureshi is a happy man with this new development. “We have been working hard to improve relations between Pakistan and the United States through cricket and this move by the Sultans is significant in taking the relationship to another level.
“They are a successful team in the PSL and their presence at this tournament will add a lot in terms of quality,” Qureshi added. In addition to the Multan Sultans, a number of other players from Pakistan will be coming to the US for the tournament. “We have a number of talented cricketers from Pakistan who have signed on for our draft and we are looking forward to them taking part in our tournament.
“Over the years we have been blessed with good talent coming from Pakistan to play in our tournament and this time it will be even better.
CCUSA the parent body that controls the US Open T20 will be celebrating 20 years in the business and as a result, there will be a lavish banquet dinner on December 18, as CCUSA celebrates the fact that they are stayed strong and continues to build even after 20 years.
