MARGATE/FL – USA: The father/son combination of Mahammad Qureshi and Zishawn Qureshi taught the South Indian players a lesson on Sunday, as they hammered their bowling to take Trinbago to an eight-wicket victory in the South Florida League.
After South India was bowled out for 97 runs, Mahammad opened the batting with Barry Khemrajsingh and they posted 19 runs for the first wicket. Khemrajsingh left for just three runs and Zishawn who featured at the GT20 in Canada recently came in to join his father.
With the elder Qureshi playing a mature hand, Zishawn followed suit and curbed his aggressive instinct to play according to the situation. The two took the game away from South India, as they added a valuable 46 runs for the second wicket. Mahammad left just before the victory was formalised for 21 but Zishawn stayed to the end. In fact just to impose his dominance he finished the game with a towering six, to end 40 not out and claim the victory. In all, he struck four fours and a six.
Earlier, it was Ken Singh who created the problems with the ball for South India, as he claimed three wickets for 19 runs upfront. Also among the wickets was L Narad who claimed 2/10.
