Maqbool in charge of Karachi for MCL Pakistan

Former Pakistani First Class cricketer Atif Maqbool has come on board the Major Cricket League (MCL) Pakistan an as investor with the Karachi Sharks.

The Karachi Sharks have been a very good team in the previous two editions and with Maqbool onboard now they will be looking to beef up their squad in an effort to lift the title.

Chairman of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi welcomes him onboard saying: “We welcome Atif into the CCUSA fold as an investor in MCL Pakistan. It is great to see him giving back to the sport we all love. We all want what is best for Pakistan’s cricket and as such we are all investing in this magnificent project that will give our young cricketers a platform to showcase their talent.”

The action gets going on May 2 and ends with the grand finals on May 7, with all matches taking place at the Maq Cricket ground in Hafizabad. A total of six franchise teams will be taking part in the T20 series which promises to create great excitement amongst the fans in that part of Pakistan. Each team has investors/sponsors so the players will be well taken care off.

The winner of this tournament will pocked 500,000 Pakistani rupees and the runner-up will carry away 250,000 Pakistani rupees. The six franchises are Lahore Lions, Hafizabad Stallions, Karachi Sharks, Hyderabad Jaguars, Faisalabad Bears and Islamabad Tigers.
