CCUSA hosts T10 World Cup

BOCA RATON/FL: Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) will be the first to host a T10 World Cup among clubs next year in May at the Central Broward Regional Park, in Fort Lauderdale.

This was announced by the chairman of CCUSA Mahammad Qureshi on Wednesday in Boca Raton, Florida. Speaking to News925 Qureshi said this is the first instance of a World Cup being played for T10 cricket and he is hoping that around 50 to 60 teams come on board and plays the tournament.

“This is the first of its kind and we are hoping to get great participation. We are going all out to make sure that we accommodate as many teams as possible, to give everyone a chance of playing in this first T10 World Cup.”

This tournament which is expected to bowl off on May 19 will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale which is the only International Cricket Council (ICC) recognised facility in North America. The tournament will be played over four days and matches will take place on the main stadium inside as well as the three adjoining grounds around the stadium.

This tournament comes after the 2021 US Open T20 tournament which was a huge success as Somerset Cavilliers took the title with victory over the US All Stars in the final. CCUSA also has in the works the Maq T10 USA Nationals which will come later in the year as well as the Legends World Cup which was played for the first time this year.
