FORT LAUDERDALE/FL: USA – All-rounder Zishawn Qureshi continued to show his class with the bat striking 74 for Pakistan against Trinidad in the Fort Lauderdale Night Cricket County Cup at the Lauderhill Sports Park.
The right-hander who also bowls left-arm orthodox spin cracked 74 off 40 balls in Pakistan’s effort of 199 in their 20 overs. Trinidad got to the win reaching 200/5 in 17.4 overs. However, it was Qureshi who stole the show with his power-hitting as he put the Trinidad team on the backfoot earlier on.
The right-hander who plays his domestic cricket in Orlando visited for the weekend and will continue to play when the series resumes. Speaking to 925 Sports he said: “I am happy for the level of cricket that the guys play down there.
We also have a pretty good level up here in Orlando but down there the cricket is fierce. This is good preparation for the US Nationals MaqT10 because that will be played after the break for the coronavirus. We were all looking forward to playing this from April 16 to 19 but the stadium has been closed down for the period and we are looking forward to getting out there as soon as it is safe to play. That tournament is the second biggest here in America after the US Open T20 and all the players look forward to taking part.
“On a personal note I will continue to work hard in keeping myself fit to play and although the gyms here are closed, I will find other ways to get in the exercise to keep fit for the cricket.”
