Qureshi receives the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development and growth of the sport in the USA. Qureshi who is also the chairman and CEO of Cricket Council USA has spent millions into the development of cricket in the country through his very popular US Open T20 tournament as well as the Cricket Academy he has at his personal stadium in Delray Beach.

Speaking on the gesture Qureshi said: “It feels good to be recognised and I thank the Hall of Fame for this. However, there is still a lot of work to be done for cricket to reach where it should in the US and I am committed to continuing my hard work. We must learn to put all differences aside if we want to build US cricket and those who are in office must be there for the right reason. We have to be selfless in our pursuit for a better cricket future for America.”

In addition to hosting the US Open T20 and the Maq T10 USA Nationals, Qureshi has extended his arm in helping other leagues across the length and breath of America in staging cricket matches in order for players to get a stage to showcase their talent. He has even gone outside of America to assist in cricket development through his league in Pakistan. He hosted the Major Cricket League tournament at the Maq Stadium in Hafizabad and soon will host another MCL at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad.

Over the years Qureshi has also assist the Caribbean by hosting the Maq U-15 North/South Classic in Trinidad and also two tournaments in St. Maarten. Next year he will also host the MCL in Trinidad in March, St. Lucia in April and St. Maarten in May.
