ARGATE/FL – USA: The US Open T20 tournament is the talk of the town these days as the 11th edition of the popular tournament approaches.
Chairman of CCUSA, Mahammad Qureshi says that all is coming into place nicely. “We are very happy with the work done so far in terms of preparations for this tournament. We have a number of teams that are already putting their squads together and looking to get the best personnel on board so that they have a good chance at winning the trophy and US$50,000 first prize.”

The total prize money at this event is estimated at US$100,000 and Qureshi thinks that this motivating factor has played a big role in getting teams to come to Fort Lauderdale. “We had 84 teams registered and as a result, we had to make a decision to leave out a number of them and settle for 28. We are happy to say that we have other venues on the roster this season and we will be seeing many more players on show.
“When you take into consideration the number of senior teams and junior teams taking part, there we will be over 500 cricketers getting a chance to play the sport this time around. This augurs well for cricket in the US and we are happy to provide the platform for the players.”
The tournament will be played from December 18 to 23 at the Centra Broward Regional Park.
