MARGATE/FL – USA: The players draft for the US Open T20, 2020 tournament will take place on November 25 in the United States of America.
Chairman and CEO of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi said that this year it will be done differently. “We are doing it differently his year because of the Covid 19 pandemic. On November 25 we will be sending all the players’ names who have registered on Cricketerbook.com to all eight team owners. They will then deliberate on who they want and by November 30 they will have to submit the names to CCUSA for final ratification.”
The hard-working Qureshi said he would like players to ensure that they register on cricketerbook.com by November 24 so that they can be in the draft. “Players have been calling about possible inclusion at the tournament but there is nothing that can be done if they are not registered for the draft. So I want to urge them to get online and register for the draft. From there it will be taken over by CCUSA and we will have all the names in the hands of the owners for them to make their final decision.”
This year because of the Covid 19 pandemic, CCUSA has reduced the number of teams from the usual 32 to eight and all the matches will be played inside the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale.
The eight teams taking part are the US All Stars/Falcons/Smart Choice,  Al Masafi, Brampton Pacers, Punjab Blues, SAMP Army, Atlanta Paramveer, Somerset, and 22 Yards.
