New York, JFK – The upcoming draft for the 10th US Open T20 cricket tournament will prove to be a gateway for cricketers in the United States and all over the world.
This is the word from chairman of Cricket Council Council USA (CCUSA), Mahammad Qureshi. Speaking ahead of the draft while attending the US Cricket Hall of Fame function in New York, Qureshi said :”We invite everyone who is interested in playing at the US Open to register for our draft. Not everyone will be picked up in the draft because we have limited teams and limited owners who will have a lot to choose from. However, here is a situation where even if a player is not chosen at the draft he gets media exposure, owners are now aware of him and he comes into a pool of players that are now recognised. We wish we can draft every single player but that is not possible. We welcome all players to sign up and become part of our data base, part of the Cricket Council USA family.”
The 2018 draft closes on October 10, so players have until that time to register to be part of the process. The actual day of the draft is set for October 20 for Fort lauderdale when the teams will be finalised.
The tournament is scheduled for December 12 to 17 at the Central Broward Regional Park.
