SUNRISE/FL – USA: Registration for the popular US Open T20 tournament for 2021 has already opened and Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) is accepting teams already.
This is the word from CEO and chairman of the CCUSA Mahammad Qureshi. Speaking to 925 News he said: “We have already opened registration for the US Open T20 tournament next year and teams are already showing interest. While the dust is still settling on this year’s remarkable tournament we are already moving ahead with planning the next event.”
The Atlanta Param Veers with T20 legend Chris Gayle on board won the 2020 title, defeating 22 Yards by 10 runs in the final. They pocketed the first prize of US$50,000, while best batsman Chris Gayle and best bowler Muhammad Ali Khan were both presented with an acre and a half each of prime residential lots in Orange County close to Disney World.
Teams interested in playing at the tournament next year can log on to cricketusopen.com and register. The tournament dates have been set for December 14 to 19 and matches will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale.
Qureshi said CCUSA has not finalized how many teams will play but he is encouraging teams to start getting their registration done. “We currently live in a fluid situation with the virus around, so at this point, it will be difficult to say how many teams we will take in next year. Later on, in the year we will make that determination. However, I want to encourage teams to start registering because when we sit to decide on the teams taking part it will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.”
