TAMPA/FL – USA: A partnership of 99 in 10 overs between Chandu Kesireddy and Sargar Patel ensured that SAMP Army maintained their unbeaten run in the President’s Cup clash at the Wesley Chapel cricket stadium on Saturday.
The duo was in top form, as Patel the USA national cricketer showed his value in opening the batting. Their effort took their team to an easy eight-wicket win over Maq Stars who had earlier won their opening game against the Tampa Rebels.
Maq Stars posted just 120/8 as only Zishawn Qureshi with a fine 58 handled the attack. The right-hander was particularly good on anything pitched up within his hitting range and counted three sixes and two fours. Tirth Patel with 3/12 and Aditya Gupta 2/35 was very good with the ball and this prevented Maq Stars from running away with the innings.
Kasireddy who scored a half-century in his team’s opening match against Tampa Rebels got an even 50 off 33 balls with four sixes and four fours. Patel chipped in with 42 off 33 balls hitting one six and three fours.
The two posted 99 runs in 10.4 overs when the first wicket fell but by that time it was too difficult to claw the game back.
