Palm Beach Wins USA T10 Title

Palm Beach Lightening struck on Sunday when they defeated Coconut Creek by — runs in the final of the USA T10 tournament held by Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, USA.

Batting first Palm Beach made 89/9 off their 10 overs. Leading the way was opener Hensworth Wallace who made 44 off 26 balls with six fours and a six. The only other player to get into double figures was Antonico Scott who made 12. The pick of the bowlers for Coconut Creek was Rizwan Mohammed 2/14. Also taking two wickets were Nahid Sarkar and Kawid Nazim.

When Coconut Creek went in to bat they lost openers Syed Hasan and Honi Gori both for ducks. These two were their batting mainstay in the tournament and after they fell the innings crumbled.

Only Zubir Ahmed with a powerful 27 off 18 balls was the only batsman to get into double figures. Bowling for Lightening Sumit Sehrawat took 2/5 off his two overs and Damian Rowe 2/18.

With the win Lightening picked up a first prize of US$3500, while Coconut Creek got $1000.
