Myrtle Grove Miami CC had a decent show at the 11th US Open T-20 Cricket Tournament 2019. Out of three games the team won two matches. In the first match against Chicago Catchers, Myrtle Grove Miami CC won the toss and chose to field first. They restricted Chicago Catchers to 75 runs in 10 overs clinching 4 wickets. In reply, Myrtle Grove Miami CC chased the target in 8.5 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Steven Taylor shined for Myrtle Grove as he scored 44 runs in just 27 deliveries including 3 massive sixes and 1 four. The other batsmen who helped with the chase were Zaniek Fowler (12 off 8) and Joseph Palmer (17 off 15).
In the second match, Myrtle Grove Miami CC faced Team Smashers. Winning the toss, Team Smashers decided to field first. Myrtle Grove Miami CC set a target of 120 runs in 10 overs at a run rate of 11.90 with the loss of 3 wickets. Mainly, Zaniek Fowler performed well for Myrtle Grove as he scored 53 runs off 28 deliveries with 5 huge sixes and 4 fours. He was supported by Aver Christian who scored 46 runs off 27 deliveries with 5 fours and 2 sixes. In reply, Team Smashers easily reached the target in 8.4 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Even though the openers for Smashers lost their wickets early in the chase, Salik Iqbal added 28 off 15 deliveries with 4 sixes, Jasdeep Singh added 21 off just 15 deliveries with 3 sixes, Rizwan scored 17 off 5 deliveries, Neal Patel added 20 off just 6 deliveries and Raymond Ramrattan scored 19 off just 8 deliveries.
In the third and last match, Myrtle Grove Miami CC played against Paramveer Tigers. Winning the toss first, Paramveer Tigers chose to bat first. The tigers managed to score 111 in ten overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Mainly, Jkorn Ottley scored a hefty 45 knock off just 25 deliveries with 4 sixes and 1 four. Whereas, Delray Rawlins scored 13 off 10 and Alex Blake added 13 off 6. Vishan Jagassar added 21 off 14 and Elmore Hutchinson added 9 off just 2. While chasing, Myrtle Grove Miami CC’s openers played a fine inning as the muscular Steven Taylor scored solid 76 runs off just 32 balls including 3 fours and 6 sixes. Aver Christian scored 22 runs off 14 balls and Damion Rowe scored 8 off just 5 deliveries. Even though Myrtle Grove Miami CC won the match by 8 wickets, they could not manage to go further in the tournament.
