Maq Stars and Spartans share the spoils

DELRAY BEACH/FL – USA: Cricket action continued on Sunday at the Maq Cricket Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida with Maq Stars and Florida Spartans sharing the matches 1-1.
They took part in the Maq T10 tournament that is ongoing as Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) continues their work of bringing cricket back to the people of America.
In the first game, Maq Stars batted first and scored 75 for five off their 10 overs with the hard-hitting batsman Zishawn Qureshi top-scoring with 13. Also getting 13 was Rehan Mohammed. In response, Rizwan Mohammed grabbed two wickets for eight runs to leave Florida Spartans on 66/4. Masood Mohammed 24 threatened to take the game away with 24, while Dale Africa made 17 but they fell short in the end.
In the second game, Maq Stars batted first again but this time they lost all their wickets for just 69 runs. Rehan Mohammed stroked 17, as Hawkins  Neville 2/15 and Tanvir Farooqi 2/17 were good. The pick of the bowlers however was Riyad Mohammed who took three wickets off five balls for just six runs, to hasten the opposition demise.
Nazim Ali with 23 runs from just nine balls with two sixes, took Spartans to victory by five wickets. Masood Mohammed also continued his good form by stroking 15 and Bradley Chung made 19. Azeem Mohammed was brilliant with the ball taking four wickets for just seven runs but in the end it was not enough.
GAME ONE:
MAQ Stars 70/5 (Zishawn Qureshi 13, Rehan Mohammed 13, Hawkins Neville 2/6) vs Florida Spartans 66/4 (Masood Mohammed 24, Dale Africa 17, Rizwan Mohammed 2/8) – MAQ Stars won by 4 runs.
GAME TWO:
MAQ Stars 69 all out (Rehan Mohammed 17, Hawkins Neville 2/15, Tanvir Farooqi 2/17, Riyad Mohammed 3/6) vs Florida Spartans 70/5 (Bradley Chung 19, Masood Mohammed 15, Nazim Ali 23, Azeem Mohammed 4/7) – Florida Spartans won by 5 wkts.
