Julien halts amazing comeback by Emrit and Hosein

SUNRISE/FL – USA: Leonardo Julien turned bowler to stall one of the best comebacks in the history of T20 cricket, as he took his team Brampton Pacers to a nerve-wracking four-run victory over the powerful Atlanta Param Veers in their second match of the US Open T20 tournament at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, USA Wednesday.
Chasing 158 runs for victory, Atlanta Param Veers were struggling on 63/8 when Emrit and Hosein came together to take them to the doorsteps of victory before Emrit and Hosein were dismissed. The Trinidadian pair added 88 runs in eight overs and five balls to take the score to 151 when Emrit left for 41 off 31 balls with three sixes.
It went down to the last over with seven needed and Khary Pierre and Akeal Hosein doing battle. Julien held his nerve and Hosein was bowled with one ball left, leaving his team four runs short.
Julien bowling off-spinner finished the match with 4/23.
Earlier, it was two Trinidadians in William Perkins and Mark Deyal to set up the Pacers total. Perkins slammed 73 off 54 balls, while Deyal who was the man of the match in their first win on Tuesday, counted 62. His runs came off 44 balls with two sixes and seven fours, while Perkins struck three sixes and six fours. They added 134 runs for the third wicket in 14.3 overs.
Damian Ebanks was very good with the ball and claimed 5/13, while Hosein took 2/34.
