India opens with big win

India opened the Legends World Cup with a big win over Pakistan on the opening day of the series at the Central Broward Regional Park on Wednesday.

Batting first on a good track India made 198/3 off their 20 overs and then restricted Pakistan to 151/8 – winning the match by 47 runs.

When India batted they got a brilliant 76 from opener Ketan Patel. The right hander was smooth in his stroke play and counted three sixes and two fours off 56 balls. 

He and Rocky Singh with 42 added 101 runs off just 9.2 overs when Singh’s 28-ball innings ended. The right hander struck two sixes and three fours. When Singh left Rasheed Khan hammered 21 and Lalta Persaud 32. Ali Bukhari was the best of the Pakistan bowlers with 2/27.

When Pakistan batted they got 40 from Asim Hasan and 39 from opener Mudassar Waqar but it was always going to be an uphill task for them. Vaneet Agarwal 3/35 and Murali Posanipally 2/27 were the pick of the bowlers.
