Qureshi leads USA to victory

Mahammad Maq Qureshi put the worry of family’s tragedy with the passing of his sister, to score a fine 32 to lead USA to victory over the World XI in the Legends World Cup at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday. 

The opener scored 32 with four fours and together with Anwar Ahmed 39 was able to take USA to 163/7 off their allotted 20 overs. Towards the back end of the innings Tariq Hussain made 21 off just 14 balls with a six and a four. 

When the World XI responded they got a 100-run partnership for the second wicket between Ahmed Choudhry 46 and Ajith Jayasinghe 53. The partnership however came off 13 overs with was a bit on the slower side given the target required. 

In the end they fell short at 150/5 with Naveed Ahmed the best of the bowlers for the USA taking 3/22.
