MARGATE/FL – USA: Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) has moved away from the central body for Cricket control in the US.

Chairman/CEO of CCUSA Mahammad Qureshi said his 23-year old organisation has decided that enough is enough and they will no longer seek sanctions from USA Cricket for their tournaments or have any dealings with the body.

Qureshi gave as his reason: “Cricket, in this country continues to be run in an adhoc manner and we are not happy. We are frustrated and think that the administration does not have cricket at heart. We have had many dealings with the administration in the past and also assisted where we could have.

“There are too many wrong doings in American cricket and we won’t be party to that. We are running the risk of getting our reputations tarnished and this is something we treasure dearly.”

Qureshi added that his organisation will continue to respect the world body, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and will seek their approvals for tournaments under their control.

CCUSA hosts the longest ever T20 tournament in North America the US Open T20. This has been ongoing for the past 15 years and is very popular amongst players and fans.
