Chairman of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi has congratulated newly installed president of Cricket West Indies (CWI) Dr. Shallow and says that his association stands ready to work with CWI for the betterment of the game.
Dr. Shallow became CWI president replacing the outgoing Ricky Skerritt on Sunday at the board’s AGM in Antigua. Dr. Shallow will have as his deputy the president of the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB), Azim Bassarath.
Qureshi a long standing cricket administrator from Boca Raton in Fort Lauderdale said : “I will do all that I can to support the vision of the new president when it comes to development programs and marketing in the United States.
“There are so many development programs that we can help with and CCUSA will be ready to assist in any way we can. Our media director and board member Vinode Mamchan is very close to West Indies Cricket and he will be keeping us informed on what we can do to assist the West Indies cricket team to become the best as they were in the eighties and early nineties.”
“I met Dr. Shallow when India played the West Indies at Central Broward last year and the he struck me as a very solid individual. We seem to have a very good idea as to where he wants to take the game and I think he will make a very good president.”
