Bravo pays courtesy call on CCUSA chief

BOCA RATON/FL- USA: International T20 star Dwayne Bravo paid a courtesy call on the chairman of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi earlier in the week at his Boca residence.

Bravo fresh from representing the West Indies in the T20 series against Sri Lanka in Antigua, flew into Miami and decided to pay a courtesy call on Qureshi. The master administrator was happy with the visit. “It is always a pleasure when you are recognized by the players who have given so much to this great sport. I welcomed Bravo to my home and we were able to discuss cricket related matters that will see cricket in the United States benefit.”

Bravo and his younger brother Darren who is currently involved in the ODI series against Sri Lanka also in Antigua, both played for the US All Stars a couple seasons ago at the US Open T20 tournament, taking the team to the semis.

Qureshi added that getting marquee players like Bravo to play the sport in the States will increase awareness and also motivate young players. “Getting the stars to come and play is always a good thing and we are looking to have players like Bravo play at the US Open T20 more often in the future.

Bravo was taken to Qureshi’s private stadium in Delray Beach and was impressed with what Qureshi is putting together at that venue. The two spoke extensively about cricket development in the US and what can be done to assist the young players coming through the system. Bravo also got a first hand look at the CCUSA Academy also at the BRCC.
