Ali Khan to skipper Maq Stars

MARGATE/FL – USA: American star cricketer Ali Khan will be playing in the USA Nationals Maq T10 tournament and will captain the Maq Stars cricket team.
This was revealed by the chairman and CEO of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Muhammad Qureshi while speaking on MaqTv on Tuesday. According to Qureshi: “It is great that Ali Khan and Saad Zafar will be playing at the USA National Maq T10 tournament as it will lend so much.”
Ali Khan who played for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and then was chosen for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League, left early because of a rib injury but will be ready to play when the USA Nationals Maq T10 bowls off on November 14 at the Maq Cricket Stadium in Delray Beach.
The tournament is in its 7th year as it originally started off as a T20 tournament before changing gears the last three years to be played as a T10 tournament. Qureshi said that a number of players over the years have passed through the tournament and, it serves as a platform for them to take their game to the next level and to address national selectors.
“A number of players come to take part in the USA Nationals Maq T10 tournament because they are looking to address the selectors for the national team and also the team owners at the US Open T20 tournament which is played after the Nationals.
“This time around there are a number of players who will be taking part and looking to get into one of the teams at the US Open T20 which will be played from December 15 at the Central Broward Regional Park.
“A number of them will also be looking to get to play for the national team and this tournament with players like Ali Khan, Zishawn Qureshi and, Saad Bin Zafar will give them quality cricket to play.”
