US Open T20 draft Nov 15

The US Open T20 draft will be held in Boca Raton, Florida USA on November 15 by Cricket Council USA to ruling body for the tournament.

This was revealed by CCUSA chairman Mahammad Qureshi on Sunday. Speaking to News925 he said that all is in place for the draft. “We have 10 teams taking part in the tournament this year and we will be having the draft on November 15, which will be carried live on MaqTv. We are happy to announce that over 700 players have registered for the draft and they will be hoping that they can get into one of the 10 teams.”

The long serving Qureshi added that a number of teams have already retained players but there is still room and at the draft all will be finalised. “Teams have retained players but there are some owners who are still looking to finalise slots on their team and this is where the draft comes in. This year the response has been phenomenal in terms of players wanting to be part of this prestigious tournament. We cannot get everyone on board but then there is always next year. We want to thank all the team owners who have met our deadlines in teams of getting their respective teams registered and we look forward to a great tournament.”

The tournament this year will be observed with all Covid 19 protocols in place and will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park from December 6 to 13. There will be two groups of five teams each just like the ICC World T20 leading to the semi-finals and final. The final this year will be played on a Monday as the schedule is packed.
