The 9th edition of US Open T-20 cricket tournament held in 2017 proved to be a game changer in the cricketing world, reaching out to global audiences via diverse media platforms courtesy of CCUSA’s hard work in promoting the game. Below are some interesting facts about the 9th edition:
US Open T20 tournament had live global coverage for the first time in 2017; It was aired live globally with a joint effort of MaqTV, Voice of America (VOA) and Trinidad and Tobago Entertainment Network (TTEN).

o 17 matches at the main stadium had live feed available which was distributed via VOA to Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

o Moreover, the highlights package for all the channels was also prepared for audience of South East Asia.

o MAQ Group also broadcasted the tournament for free in West Indies through TTEN.

o MaqTv also utilized platforms like Shava TV, Roku and JadooTv, I95tv, A2ZTV news and RaniyanTv for live coverage including its own platforms: www.maqtv.com and www.cricketcouncilusa.com

o Maqtv was also present at the 18th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards which marked the association of CCUSA with the IIFA community that will lead to collaborated cricket events in the long-run.

o The tournament included noteworthy players like Dwayne and Darren Bravo, Keiron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Rayad Emrit, Kevon Cooper, William Perkins, Rizwan Cheema, Mohammad Ali Khan, Zishawn Qureshi.

o In 2017, Miss US Open Cricket pageant was held by CCUSA to promote the tournament.

Additionally, CCUSA joined forces with Midwest Cricket Conference to form the Cricketers Care USA program, to assist the flood victims’ in South Western USA. CCUSA officially revealed its plan in 2017 to introduce the T-10 cricket format in the 2018 USA National Championship, extending its efforts to promote the game through its quickest format. Other than cricket, CCUSA’s leadership continued its effort to help the community, as such, the Chairman of CCUSA and MAQ Foundation, Mr. Mahammad Qureshi joined hands with the Caribbean Business Alliance to help the victims of hurricane in Dominicia and Hurricane Harvey in Houston.
