Shopping Malls Closed For Violating SOPs

For not complying with the health protocols devised to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, authorities in Ajman closed two shopping malls on Monday.

According to the statement, issued by the city administration Department of Economic Development in Ajman shut down two Shopping Malls for not practicing standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Manager of Inspection and Follow-up Section, Majed Alsuwaidi said that “the large scale inspection campaigns carried out to the markets in Emirates ensure the extent of compliance of facilities with the applicable precautionary measures and health requirements to curb the spread of dread virus. Inspection Team dealt only with two shopping centers which showed leniency on abiding by such measures”.

Majed Alsuwaidi added that “Both centers were temporarily shut down for the public safety and health and they will be opened later after ensuring all conditions and requirements are complied with.”

Alsuwaidi stressed the importance of compliance of all economic facilities in the emirate of Ajman with the safety measures, indicating that inspection visits will continue to make sure the ensure the endearment to the circulars issued by the competent entities and avoid any administrative and legal sanctions against those who violate SOPs.

Coronavirus Situation In UAE

Health and Prevention Ministry  reported 674 cases of the coronavirus, along with 761 recoveries. No new deaths were reported.

More than 92,000 new Covid-19 tests were carried out, the ministry said, taking the total to 8.7 million tests since the pandemic.

Emirati health minister received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine that’s being tested in four Arab countries, including the UAE.

Minister of Health and Prevention, Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais received the medicine after he announced an emergency approval to administer it to frontline health workers.

The announcement came as the country carried out over 100,000 Covid tests in a single day .

The minister had earlier announced that the vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm CNBG was safe and effective.

Over 31,000 volunteers representing 125 nationalities have received the medicine in the UAE in six weeks. The side effects reported so far have been “mild and expected, like any other vaccine”, another official had said.
