PALM BEACH/FL – USA: Sports administrator and businessman extraordinaire Mahammad Qureshi was inducted into the Palm Beach Hall of Fame at a gala ceremony in West Palm Beach on Sunday evening.

Qureshi was given the award by the West Palm Beach County Commission for his services to the development of sport in South Florida, especially cricket. The man who has spent millions of dollars in the development of cricket was very humble in accepting the award.

“I am grateful to the County for his induction and this will only serve to motivate me more as I continue along the path of developing young people through sport. We have done a lot of work in building cricket through our cricket body Cricket Council USA and has been a solid organization over the last two decades.”

Qureshi has done a lot of work in schools in South Florida and continues to promote cricket for senior players as well. His famed US Open T20 has brought many international cricketers to America to compete against local stars and this has helped them develop into better cricketers.

This is the second occasion that Qureshi is being inducted into a Hall of fame as he was inducted into the US Cricket Hall of Fame back in 2012. Only last year he was given a lifetime achievement award from the same organization.

He continued: “There is a lot of work to be done in developing cricket in this country and I am willing and ready to continue. We have seen improvements along the way and our goal is to get cricket into the fabric of the American sporting fraternity.”
