Maq Giants win big in Trinidad


PORT-OF-SPAIN /TRINIDAD – Maq Giants defeated Parakeet Buccaneers by 51 runs in their third match of the Dream II T10 tournament at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.

Batting first Maq Giants made a brilliant 149/3 off their 10 overs with Akiel Cooper topscoring with 48 off just 20 balls. The right hander struck two sixes and five fours. Also among the runs was the inform Sathruhan Rambaran who scored 48 off 23 balls. He clouted four sixes and two fours.

The hard hitting Suraj Seepaul was also in fine form and raced to 33 off 11 balls. He had four sixes and a four. Maq Giants struck 10 sixes in their 10 overs.

Chasing 150 runs was always going to be difficult for Parakeets and once they West Indies player Evin Lewis the chase was as good as over. Parakeets ended on 98/5 off 10 overs. Giants skipper Mark Deyal was the pick of the bowlers with 2/22.
