NASSAU/BAHAMAS – Chairman of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi whilst on a family vacation came out of his cruise ship to pay a courtesy call on the president of the Bahamas Cricket Association Greg Taylor.

Qureshi the long serving cricket administrator was driven around by Greg and taken to the country’s best cricket ground in the capital. Speaking about the visit the Fort Lauderdale businessman said: “I am happy that I got the chance to meet with Greg and was taken around by him. In conversations with him I realized that he knew about us at CCUSA and the work that we have done in promoting the cricket.”

Qureshi was told that development of the game is not what it should be on the beautiful Island as help is needed financially and otherwise. “They need a lot of help to grow their cricket in Bahamas. There seem to be a lot of potential to take the game forward. After meeting with Greg I will take certain recommendations to the board and we will see how best we can help develop the cricket here. “

This is not the first time that Qureshi has ventured outside of America to assist cricket. He has held numerous tournaments in Pakistan and Canada, as well as St. Maarten and Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.

He is also thinking of an approach to help Bahamas :”I think what they need here is a good tournament with good players coming in and this will attract the locals to the game. We did a similar thing in the US and we are now seeing the results of this.”
