SUNRISE/FL – USA: All rounder Zishawn Qureshi was in brilliant form with both bat and ball, as he took his team the US All Stars to a seven-wicket victory over UCT in match number three of the MaqT10 USA Championships at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale Friday.
After easily defeating Decan in their first game by 75 runs, the US All Stars restricted UCT to 66/9 off their 10 overs. UCT got off to a good start reaching 29 without loss when Qureshi brought Rajesh Sharma into the attack. The former India ‘A’ player grabbed three quick wickets and Qureshi grabbed two and soon there was a steady procession of players to and from the dugout.
Shamid Sadiq then also got into the act taking care of the lower order and from a position of 26 without loss, UCT slipped to 44 for eight. At the end of the innings, they were able to crawl to 66 for nine.
Qureshi then opened the batting and cracked a quickfire 31 to lead his team home at 66 for three after seven overs. This second win has put them into the quarters but they still have a match of academic interest on Saturday morning at 9.30am.
