PHILIPSBURG/ ST. MAARTEN – The talk of the town in Philipsburg St. Maarten is of the approaching MAQ Cricket59 to be hosted by the Adam Sanford Cricket Management Group from November 8 to 10 at the Carib Lumber Ball Park in St. Maarten.
With the format being of just 59 balls an innings and with batsmen getting a ‘free-hit’ off the first ball, this has created interest and cricketers, fans and other stakeholders have been approaching the Adam Sanford Cricket Management Group seeking information.

The concept came about after chairman of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi got an idea from the Uber operation which is popular across the world. According to Qureshi, Uber made it possible for all to drive their car and earn an income. According to him: “You did not have to pay a big licensing fee to operate your taxi. Everyone became a stakeholder under Uber. Now, it is more possible for more people to own cricket clubs under MAQ Cricket59. We are making it possible for many people to own cricket teams this time around, as they can come in for very reasonable fees and become an owner.”

MAQ Cricket59 will lead off in St. Maarten and then the format will be taken to Pakistan, where MAQ Cricket59 will be played in Islamabad from November 21 to 23. Five Franchises will take the field in St. Maarten and will vie for cash prizes totallingUS$10,000.
