King Cobra rules in Chicago

SKOKIE/ CHICAGO – USA: King Cobra’s defeated Green Mamba in the finals of the 2019 Chicago Cup after a brilliant 99 from Jay Desai.
The classy right-hander was in perfect form and was harsh on all the bowlers. Chasing 143 runs to win the trophy, King Cobra reached their target at 144 for one in 16.1 overs. Desai in his brutal display needed just 54 balls and ended the match with a massive six down the ground. He slapped three fours and 10 sixes.
With Mahammad Qureshi offering $50 for each six in the finals, he walked away with a handsome $500. Also batted well was  Schinda Liyanaarachchi who scored 35 not out off 38 balls with two fours. He was very solid and weathered the early storm after King Cobra lost an early wicket.
Earlier, it was the burly Srijay Sunil who rescued the innings for Green Mamba, scoring 41 off 26 balls with five sixes, which fetched him $250. All-rounder  Roopnarine Seenarain scored 29 off 13 two fours and three sixes and president of Midwest CC Sharaz Najam got 25 off 26 balls with two fours. Bowling well for King Cobra’s was Dr. Parth Brahmbhatt with 2/16 and  Sai Charith 2/31.
